Disabled? We are here to try and show that living in a wheelchair doesn't mean you should sit idly at home waiting for the next day to come. We believe that's when attitude becomes the real disability. Life is what you make of it. Live life to the full while you can. Our solution for getting out of the house has been to try a little adventure travel.

the plan

The plan for 2009 is to do some of the desert travelling that we didn't do last year. Also to cover some of the ground we did before as we fell in love with the area and the people.

So firstly we are going to Namibia where we fly into Windhoek from Johannesburg. We then meet up with our guide who will take us on what is basically a trip round Namibia and seeing what promises to be something special - the Skeleton Coast. We then continue through the Namib Desert seeing the famous sand dunes that the area is so famous for and continue through to the Botswana via the world famous Kalahari Desert. We then go on across Botswana, though the city of Maun, and on to the Okavango Delta. A place that we both thought was magnificent with all it's wildlife. We keep going across Botswana, staying in lodges trhis time instead of tents. Possibly we are becoming soft as we get older, or maybe wiser, or both. We'll cross Botswana and enter Zambia. There is a ferry crossing that Sue wants to do and it sounds exciting to me too. From there we will go up to the Mosi-O-Tunya Natonal Park which is home to Victoria Falls. We'll stay there a few nights and then head back home.
